Mayra B. Pastore presents at 2016 National SACNAS Conference

Dr. Mayra B. Pastore with Dr. Gabriela González after her keynote speech at the National SACNAS conference in Long Beach, CA. Dr. González is a professor of physics and astronomy at LSU and a spokesperson for the LIGO Scientific Collaboration, which was responsible for the detection of gravitational-waves predicted by Albert Einstein 100 years ago.

This year, Dr. Pastore volunteered as an abstract reviewer and travel award reviewer for SACNAS. She also mentored and judged undergraduate posters and graduate oral presentations. Mayra's abstract titled "Role of Liver Receptor Homologue-1 in Fatty Acid Metabolism in Female Mice" was accepted to be part of the postdoctoral oral presentation session - she discussed her data showing liver receptor homologue-1 (Lrh-1) role beyond bile acid and cholesterol homeostasis in female mice.
